I have never done body work so I must get experience. I looked at many different cars but ended up right back to my favorite...Camaro. I always wanted to learn body work and boy is it a lot to learn.

It didn't occur to me until afterwards that this was made the year I graduated High School, 1978. One thing now that I have learned is that you don't buy a Primered Car, it can hide a lot when you get into it. It wasn't until I painted her that I found all kinds of dents I had missed. Then there was the bug and dirt thing. Ok...I'm out of my element here, it is not an animal. Still I wanted to learn body work. Minus the missing Headlight bezels and Marker lights, this was her after my first attempt to sand and primer. I will post after work pictures later. This was a rust free car so that was a plus. In addition to that...all new Glass. She has a 305 engine as best we can tell. Drive her home.

Also I am going to install a new interior. As you can tell, the original color was Camel, YUK, now it is Black. I haven't decided what rims yet. Her new color is Viper Blue, I will post pictures later of her looks now. I did not go back original with her but rather improved her appearance. I discovered that Red was one of her original colors. The paint job is not great but it ain't all bad, it was my first as I gain experience for Ole Blue. The engine and transmission is original as I can tell. When she is completed, she will be 4 sale or I may also trade her. Off the top of my head, 67-69 Rag top Camaro, Convertible Mustang that needs work. Almost anything that is pre 50's or another Camaro. Plans are to take her to Pigeon Forge to the Rod Run in August or maybe EBay. She has been painted and primer with PPG Paint. Below are pictures of Blue 2.

This is her after step one. Still a ways to go and the paint job was nothing to write home about. My specialty is still animals.

There is a donor car for Ole Blue. Her 350 engine was stuck so I found her a new one, upgraded from the old point and condenser. This is her donor car. Was going to be but now I'll fix her up.

The hood with several pings and not the greatest sanding is now on the 1978. The 1978 hood is on the 1970 and there is still 1 more RS hood & Scoop left. The engine, trans, windshield and inner fenders will go into Ole Blue. The Subframe maybe in a 1949 Ford F1 pickup I have. The front fenders ( perfect ) and I have 2 more perfect fenders and 1 that has a small dent in it are for sale. The one with a dent is 75.00. The rest are 100.00. The upper grill is in decent shape and is 45.00. The lower grill is 55.00 ( very rare ), decent shape. The hood is so so that I have left, probably better than the one I used and is 75.00 with scoop. I also have a 1970-81 Regular hood that is 100.00. Spoiler in the rear is for sale for 50.00. Seats are ripper but will take 20.00 per seat. The doors are for sale off a 1973 for 100.00 each with glass. The nose piece is torn but I may fix, if so it will be 125.00. I also has a radiator support and an inner bumper in addition to the one with this car. These are 50.00 each. There will also be some chrome left but as for now don't know which to sell as well as interior parts. I have a dash cluster for a 1980 85 MPH, 130 MPH cluster for a 1978 and another for a 1970 now on EBay ( 150 MPH ). There are 2 trunk decks for sale. There will be a couple of Headlight Bezels and Taillights for 1978-81 Camaro. Of course all can also be swapped. All trades considered. There is more but it escapes me what all is there.

One thing blew me away, the lack of honesty when buying parts. They break down something like this : you have 1970-1973, ( but many 1970 parts are similar to 1969 or are unique). 1974-1977 are similar ( except back window and floor boards). 1978 -1979 are similar. 1980-1981 are similar. If you ever have questions what fits what, just ask me

One other thing we have for sale or trade is a 1951 or 52 or 53, 3/4 ton Chevy pick-up, I have the Title somewhere here. New bushings. Needs totally restored. Solid body and frame. You can call me in the evenings at 865-674-6318.
